What is a Phobia?

A phobia is an anxiety disorder related to a persistent, extreme, commonly irrational fear towards an object and/or situation. These phobias are most often caused by trauma related towards said object or situation.There is a difference between a fear and a phobia. They are similar in some respects, however, a fear is something that affects you in the moment, whilst a phobia is a persistent psychological disorder.Common phobias include Arachnophobia (phobia of spiders), Agoraphobia (typically, a phobia of public spaces, though this differs for some phobiacs.), Claustrophobia (phobia of enclosed spaces), and/or Trypophobia (phobia of holes).There are many things one could have a phobia of, some more common than others. It is important to remember that all phobias are anxiety disorders.

What is the Phobia System?

The Phobia System is a gender system of xenogenders that can be described or connected to a specific phobia. Genders in the Phobia System are typically caused by the phobia one is suffering from, though it could also be related towards the phobia in general.Genders in the Phobia System can include genders that feel like a phobia, genders that are only present when one is triggered, or a gender affected/influenced by a phobia.As stated, not all terms apply to only phobiacs, and most terms are not exclusive, but it is much advised that non-phobiacs use those terms with extreme care, as phobias are not to be taken lightly.

Phobiagender is a neurogender related to ones phobia. Including but not limited to: a gender that feels like the phobia itself, a gender that is only felt when the phobia is triggered, and/or a gender that is heavily influenced by the phobia.Unlike the Phobia System, phobiagender is exclusive to those with phobias, or otherwise, can only be used by those with a phobia.
